Morzine and Avoriaz offer a superb skiing experience in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, one of the largest ski areas in the world that straddles the Swiss-French border. Morzine has tree-lined skiing with a mix of steep and gentle pistes back to the resort. Avoriaz resort at 1,800m, ensures snow-sure conditions and easy ski-in/ski-out access. From wide, gentle pistes to challenging black runs, skiers can explore over 600 km of linked terrain across France and Switzerland.
Morzine – Avoriaz apres ski
Morzine has some fantastic apres ski and nightlife in its charming village. The Tremplin offers pumping apres ski at the lift station of the Pleney, while the resort bars such as Robbo’s, Cavern and Haka are all fantastic bars.
Avoriaz apres ski is dominated by La Folie Douce – a magnet for afternoon revellers, with a terrave that is packed throughout the winter.
Morzine – Avoriaz hotels
Morzine is dominated by chalets but there are also a range of quality hotels for corporate ski groups. One of the best is the Petit Dru. Located close to the village centre and with ski bus stops outside the door, the Petit Dru is one of the best located hotels in Morzine.
The hotel has a large bar area, steps down to the chruch and a swimming pool and spa area. The hotel has multi-lingual staff and a ski rental shop on the premises.
Morzine – Avoriaz ski school
One of the great ski schools in Morzine is Adrenalin Morzine, run by Christophe. This is a ski school and guiding service that takes the best instructors from the area. Private group lessons and off-piset guiding are possible – the back-country trips are legendary.

Morzine – Avoriaz for non-skiers
Morzine – Avoriaz has a great deal to occupy the non-skier. Outdoor activities include snowshoeing, dog sledding, ice skating, sledging, paragliding, snowshoeing and helicopter rides. To relax there is the aquariaz water par, hotel spas and cultural visits.
