Chamonix – the dream landscape for event media

Mountains have an allure, offering sights detached from most of our everyday lives. All are beautiful, yet some are truly awe-inspiring. The Chamonix Valley is one such place, and photographs capturing the action, landscapes and social interactions of a corporate event offer huge marketing and personal opportunities.

Aiguille du Midi

Towering above the resort is the fairytale peak of the Aiguille du Midi. From afar it is otherworldly, spiking into the clouds and crowned with an iconic, manmade spire. Closer up, the facilities there offer a stunning backdrop with vast ice sheets, people edging out on the glass-bottomed platform a kilometer above the ground and alpinists and skiers preparing to exit the safety of the lift station, and venture out into the wilds of the Mont Blanc Massif.

Town

Whilst the highest mountains in the Alps tower above the resort, the town of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc is no less photogenic. It is an iconic town, one of the principal mountaineering centres in the world and a hugely popular visitors’ destination. The pedestrian area is alive with activity as bag-laden shoppers mingle with elite mountaineering guides. Terraces are vibrant and colourful and when framed by the Mont Blanc Massif, offer stunning moments to capture on camera.

Action sports

Many who venture to Chamonix do so for the skiing, and there are memorable shots of colleagues gazing across the valley from le Brévent to the north-facing peaks. Lunches on the terraces are other times to capture event magic with steaming dishes and tables full of wine bottles. Passengers on a tandem paraglider or those ice climbing or on glacial expeditions can expect some Hollywood shots to treasure for a lifetime.
